Elgin County Railway Museum
The Elgin County Railway Museum is located at 225 Wellington Street, between Ross Street and First Avenue. They are the large red building behind Lyle Cook Automotive.
After Labour Day the museum is officially open Monday, Wednesday and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until noon.
Private tours can be arranged outside of regular hours by calling the museum at 519.637.6284 or sending an e-mail to tours@ecrm5700.org
Railway Heritage Weekend
The Elgin County Railway Museum hosts the Railway Heritage weekend annually on the fourth weekend in August, which coincides with the Iron Horse Festival weekend. The Elgin County Railway Museum offers many railway displays, railway item vendors, train rides, model trains, and entertainment in addition to the Museum's own regular displays.

Every event includes Thomas & Friends storytelling & video viewing, Imagination Station, Temporary Tattoos, Hay Bale Maze, Live Music featuring the "Smudge Fundaes" 2008 Canadian Children's Group of the year, Clowns & Magicians, Free admission to the Railway Museum, Arts & Crafts, Thomas Gift Shop, Food Vendors and more.
The activities on site at Day Out With Thomas are for you and your children to enjoy for several hours or more. Please plan your arrival times accordingly. You should arrive no later than one hour before your scheduled train departure.
